India Continues to Dominate, Sri Lanka Advances in World Test Championship Standing

A fresh World Championship standing was released by the ICC (International Cricket Council) after the Indian and Sri Lankan sides won their 1st Tests against Bangladeshi and New Zealand sides, respectively. India is still in a dominating position over Sri Lanka. The latter advanced in the standing list in the World Test Championship.

After the Indian and Sri Lankan sides won their 1st Tests against Bangladeshi and New Zealand sides, respectively, ICC shared an updated list of the World Test Championship Standing List 2024.

India is still at the top of that list 2023-25 with 7 wins, 2 losses, and one draw from 10 Test matches played. At the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai, they scored 280 runs against the Bangladeshi side. The Indian side is led by Rohit Sharma with 86 points and a winning percentage of 71.67%.

The Indian side has further strengthened their probability of reaching the 3rd continuous World Test Championship Final. The final of this test championship is scheduled for July 2025 at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Sri now requires a win against South Africa followed by a 2-0 series win against Australia at home stadium to save a position in the finals.

In the World Test Championship 2023-25, the squads will get 12 points for a win, 4 points for a draw, and 6 points for a tie game.
