Hockey India League 2024-25

The Hockey India League 2024-25 is all set to make a comeback after 7 long years. This news was officially announced in New Delhi on 4th October (Friday). In it, 8 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams will partake thus making it the only Indian Women’s league which will occur with Men’s game.

The establishment of the Women’s League in the Hockey India League structure will be an amazing opportunity for Women players to show their abilities while playing Hockey matches. Along with the New HIL introduction, Hockey India also revealed the Men’s and Women’s franchises that will partake in this year's HIL tournament.

HIL 2024-25 Additional Information

Player Auction Rules

The auction for the Hockey India League players in 2024-25 is scheduled from the 13th to the 15th of October in New Delhi. Each squad will create a 24-player team in which 16 Indian and 8 international players are mandatory to include. The Indian players should have a minimum of 4 junior players. This will allow all local and international players to enjoy this competition.

Dates and Venues

The opening ceremony of the Hockey India League 2024-25  will take place on 28th December in Rourkela. Two major venues are selected for the matches of HIL 2024-25:

• Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand
• Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Odisha

The final of the Women’s League is all set to take place on 26th January 2025 in Ranchi venue and the Men’s final is scheduled to take place on 1st February 2025 in Rourkela venue. To ensure each game concludes fairly, Shootouts are also introduced for the tied games.
