• It was not easy to select the replacement for such a unique and most celebrated Wicketkeeper Batter.

• David Warner, the 36 year old Australian International cricketer, is selected as a replacement for Rishabh Pant in IPL 2023 as Pant is going under recovery and rehabilitation. 
• Axar Patel is going to be the Vice-Captain of the DC franchise for the 16th season of IPL. He is an All-Rounder by role.
• Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian International Cricket team captain, has been opted as the Director of Cricket for the franchise. 
• The Head-Coach of the DC franchise is Ricky Ponting has said in Media that:

"He has been around the Australian team for a number of years. We wanted to pick him in the auction before our last campaign. Obviously he was the captain before and he has a whole lot of experience on the field”.

• David Warner is going to lead the team for the second time in IPL. Previously he played the skipper for DC for a couple of games in IPL from 2009 to 2013.
• The Sunrisers Hyderabad Franchise also signed Warner as their skipper in 2014 for the first time. 
• In 2016, Warner showed his captaincy skills and he led the team to win the title of IPL 2016 for the first time.
• Warner has taken the 5th place in the list of most-successful captains, in terms of matches won.
• He has won 35 matches out of a total of 69 matches, lost 32 and 2 as drawn as a skipper.

• It was confirmed by Saurabh Ganguly that Rishabh Pant will take more time to recover from his injuries and is not going to be a part of IPL 2023 tournament.
• It was previously decided by the DC’s management that David Warner is going to be the Replacement for Pant.
• There were other names that were popping up for the replacement like Sarfaraz Khan, Phil Salt & Yash Dhull but Warner bagged the position as a skipper.
• The DC team’s management was only waiting for confirmation from the BCCI for Warner’s replacement.

• The amount that the DC franchise has paid to get the services of David Warner in IPL 2023 is INR 6.25 Crores. 
• He is going to be the skipper for the team for the 16th edition of IPL.

Rishabh Pant IPL 2023 Salary

• The amount paid by the DC franchise in the auction of IPL 2023 for Pant was INR 16 Crores, but he is going to miss the IPL 2023 due to an accident injury occurred last year. He is still going to get this salary as per the rules made by the BCCI.
