Baba Siddique Murder: Bone test refutes accused's 'minor' claim; security increased outside Salman's house

Dharmaraj Kashyap, the accused in the Baba Siddique murder case was found adult in the bone ossification test on Sunday (13th October). Baba Siddique Murder: Bone Ossification Test Outcome

Dharmaraj Kashyap is confirmed as an adult after the bone ossification test on 13th October (Sunday). His lawyer was previously claiming that the accused in the Baba Siddique murder case was a minor. 

The Bone Ossification Test is a medical procedure that is conducted after legal permission to determine anyone’s age. The bone ossification test was ordered by Mumbai’s Esplanade Court on Dharmraj Kashyap. He is one of the accused in the NCP leader (Baba Siddique) murder case who was shot dead. He was also presented in court and is now sent to custody till 21st October (Monday).

The court needed this test as the lawyer of Kashyap was claiming that the accused was a minor. The Mumbai Police has increased security outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment as the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has come forth in this case.

Esplanade Court Ordered Bone Ossification Test

The Mumbai Police stated:

"His (Dharmaraj Kashyap's) lawyer claimed he was a minor. The test was conducted, and it was confirmed that he was not a minor. He was produced in court, and the court has granted police custody till October 21." 

Gurmail Singh, another accused in this case was sent to Mumbai’s Crime Branch’s custody till 21st October (Monday). Shivakumar Gautam, the third accused is not caught yet.

Pravin Lonkar, another connected person to the case, was arrested on Sunday. He was the claimed controller of Kashyap and Gautam.

Baba Siddique Murder Incident

As per the officials, a Police constable was protecting Siddique when he was shot. 2 pistols and 28 live cartridges were captured from Gurmail Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap. They both belong to the Bahraich district with no criminal history. Gurmail was from Haryana.

Baba Siddique Murder Case and Lawrence Bishnoi Relation

In a post, a gang member of Lawrence Bishnoi took responsibility for Baba Siddiqui’s murder case on Sunday. He mentioned that it took place as Siddique has close relations with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Police are still verifying the post’s authenticity.

Earlier this year, the Bishnoi gang was behind the murder of Sidhu Moosewala, a Punjabi singer, and shooting outside Salman Khan’s house.  

Reaction of Maharashtra’s CM

Eknath Shinde, the CM of Maharashtra, mentioned that the people receiving threats will get security, and the criminals, in this case, will not be spared. He stated:

"Yesterday's incident of Baba Siddique's murder is unfortunate. Mumbai Police have arrested two persons -- one from UP and the other from Haryana. The third accused is absconding... He will be arrested soon. They will not be spared, no matter who they are, be it the Bishnoi gang or any underworld gang. Strict action will be taken." 

Baba Siddique Murder Case: The Political Conflict

Many politicians are targeting the current government for their deficiency of protecting their leaders. Rahul Gandhi from Congress mentioned on X:

“It is a government that is on its last legs. With this, the countdown for its exit has begun,” 

He further added:

“The tragic demise of Baba Siddique ji is shocking and saddening. My thoughts are with his family in this difficult time. This horrifying incident exposes the complete collapse of law and order in Maharashtra. The government must take responsibility, and justice must prevail." 

Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar, NCP (SP) another MVA partner, gave considerable remarks. The latter even said that the current rulers should step down. 

Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, the BJP Spokesperson, stated:

“Baba Siddique was a great human being. We are all saddened by his murder. Two of those involved in his murder have been caught and a probe is on to find out those who were behind this.” 

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the Senior BJP leader and former union minister, stated:

“It was not right for them (opposition leaders) to make insensitive remarks on such a sensitive issue”.

The Case

Baba Siddique, former member of the Maharashtra assembly, was shot dead outside his Nirmal Nagar office in Mumbai on 12th October (Saturday) night. He was bursting firecrackers and he suffered some gunshot wounds in the attack. Salman Khan, the Bollywood actor, was the major personality to visit Siddique’s house in Bandra to pay last tribute.
