What is Match fixing in IPL?

Match fixing in cricket refers to the practice of influencing the outcome of a cricket match through illegal means. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), it refers to instances where players, team officials, or outside parties collude to manipulate events within a match to produce a predetermined result. This can include things like deliberately losing a match or intentionally underperforming in certain key moments of the match. Match fixing is considered a serious breach of the rules of the game and is strictly prohibited by cricket governing bodies. Offenders can face severe penalties, including suspension or ban from the sport, as well as criminal charges.

Sreesanth arrested in Match-fixing 

• Sreesanth was arrested in 2013 after being accused of match-fixing, and he was banned from all formats of cricket by the BCCI in India. After the match-fixing scandal, his international and domestic career was put to an end in 2013.
• After serving a seven-year ban, he returned to domestic cricket early this year. Sreesanth has finally spoken out about the match-fixing scandal, dismissing the claims leveled against him, adding that he would not consider such crimes for Rs 10 lakh (INR 1 million) when his party bills at the time were Rs 2 lakh (INR 200,000)
• ""This is the first interview in which I talk about or explain it. It was intended to be one over with 14 or more runs. I got five runs off four balls. In an IPL game, there is no no-ball, wide, or slower ball. "After 12 surgeries on my toe, I was bowling at 130-plus," Sreesanth told in an interview.
• "I had played the Irani Trophy and was eager to participate in the South African series, so that we can triumph in September 2013. We went early because things moves faster in September. My ambition was to compete in that series. "A someone like him, why would I do that, especially for ten lakhs? I'm not talking large money, but I used to have expenses of approximately two lakh when I party around," he added.
• Sreesanth went on to describe how he never had too much cash and always paid with his credit card. The right-arm pacer, who has been playing for Kerala in the domestic league, praised his fans for helping him get through the tough times.
• I used to pay using my credit card rather than cash. I would have sprayed it if I had that much money. In fact, I used to look after even ordinary people," Sreesanth explained.
• "In my life, I've only helped and offered hope. I've helped many individuals, and those prayers have helped me get through this. All I ask is for two balls, five runs, and two balls to go. How could I give away what I had worked for? "No way," he concluded, 
• Sreesanth has played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 10 T20Is in his international career, taking 345 wickets in all. He last appeared for India in 2011 and was last seen in action earlier this year at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

What happen with Sreesanth after being arrested by the police 

Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan, and 17 other people held by the Police Authorities were granted bail on 10 June 2013 by a High court of Delhi due to a lack of evidence to charge them under MCOCA. Ajit Chandila had not sought bail.
