Quinton de Kock smashed an unbeaten 140 off 70 balls on 18th May 2022 (Wednesday) against the Kolkata Knight Riders, while KL Rahul slammed 68 not out to create a new IPL record of 210 runs in 20 overs. They were then playing for the Lucknow SuperGiants.

They set the record for the second-highest opening partnership score in IPL history.

In IPL 2015, the duo scored a 215-run partnership and remained on the pitch until the end of the game. They played this match for Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.

This powerful combo holds the record for the highest opening partnership score in IPL history. This record was set by Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers on May 14, 2016, during an IPL game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Lions in Bengaluru. They had the highest partnership of 229 runs for the second wicket. Both players scored centuries.

This score was created by this duo on May 3, 2024 (Friday).
