India to Host Men’s Asia Cup 2025 T20I

India will host the next edition of the Men’s Asia Cup in 2025. The nation will only host the T20I matches and not the ODI matches of this tournament. The Asian Cricket Council stated this in the IEOI (Invitation for Expression of Interest). The T20 World Cup schedule in the country is not scheduled yet for 2026.

Asia Cup cricket tournament is conducted as a rehearsal event and played in the format (T20 or ODI) in which the next World Cup would be scheduled.

The best example of it would be the Asia Cup 2027 which will occur in the ODI format in Bangladesh as the World Cup 2027 is scheduled in South Africa in the same format.

In 2027, the T20 Asia Cup in India & the ODI event in Bangladesh will include 13 matches each as there are 26 matches scheduled in the pre-decided period. ACC (Asian Cricket Council) mentioned in its Invitation for Expression of Interest (IEOI) statement:

"'Men’s Asia Cup Tournament' means the biennial senior men’s cricket tournament organised and administered by the ACC involving designated Members, and shall include participation by the teams from Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and one Non Test playing Member of ACC selected through qualifying events."

Which Nation host the Men’s Asia Cup 2023?

Pakistan hosted the Men’s Asia Cup 2023 and this tournament was conducted in a ‘Hybrid Model’. This is because India refused to visit Pakistan for the games of this cricket event due to security purposes.

India played its Men’s Asia Cup 2023 matches in Sri Lanka and became the defending champions. They have won 3 tournaments from the last 4 events.

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is the organization responsible for conducting the Asia Cup Tournaments. The games in this cricket event are played in T20I and ODI formats. The most successful team of this tournament is India with 8 titles in their account.

This cricket tournament has played the games in T20I formats only twice to date in 2016 and 2022. The defending champions, India, will host the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 in T20I format.
