Samit Dravid earned his place in the Indian Under-19 team before the multi-format series against Australia. He is the son of Rahul Dravid, a former cricketer, ex-captain, and ex-coach of the national cricket team.

He was selected as he performed extremely well on the domestic scale recently. This 3-match One-day series is scheduled in Puducherry on the 21st, 23rd, and 26th of September this year. The Indian Under-19 team will be captained by Mohammad Amaan from Uttar Pradesh.

Samit, the junior Dravid, is a pace-bowling all-rounder and he currently plays for Mysore Warriors in the KSCA (Karnataka State Cricket Association) Maharaja T20 Trophy in Bengaluru.

Samit’s journey so far had not been too impressive with the bat as he was only able to collect 82 runs from 7 innings to date. His highest score was 33 and he hasn’t yet balled in the tournament.

At the start of 2024, Samit has a fruitful time in the Cooch Behar Trophy. He played a vital role in Karnataka’s Maiden title victory in the tournament. Samit, the 18-year-old player then, scored 362 runs in 8 games and his 98 scores confirmed his quality as a player that he made against Jammu and Kashmir. Indian U-19 Vs Australian U-19

After the announcement of Samit Dravid’s selection in the Indian U-19 team, BCCI announced the teams for the ODI and 4-day teams for the series against Australia. Samit Dravid will be a part of both units. 

Mohammad Amaan from Uttar Pradesh India will be the captain of the Limited-Over team (ODI). Soham Patwardhan from Madhya Pradesh will be the captain of the Red Ball matches. 

The series will move to Chennai for two 4-day games commencing on 30th September and ending on 7th October this year. For this tour, the Indian side will be captained by Soham Patwardhan from MP, India.
