India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Match Highlights

The Indian side in the 1st Test Match won against the Bangladeshi side on 19th September (Thursday) in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. India defeated the Bangladesh squad by 280 runs and with this India attained the 1-0 winning ratio in the 2-match Test series.

Ravichandran Ashwin ended the second innings with 6 wickets releasing 88 runs. He was wicketless in the first innings of this match. He was well assisted by Ravindra Jadeja who took 3 wickets and released 58 runs. Jadeja’s total test wickets have moved up to 299 wickets. 

On the first day of the match, team India was limited by Bangladesh for 144 runs and 6 wickets. They have made a great comeback on the second day of the match series. Ashwin and Jadeja for the 7th wicket formed a 199-run partnership and got the Indian side out of the field trouble. 

The Indian team, under Jasprit Bumrah’s guidance, led to defeat Bangladesh for 149 runs in one-half session. The Indian side didn’t impose the Follow-On Rule.

On day 3 of the match, Shubhman Gill and Rishabh Pant partnered for 167 runs for the 4th wicket to keep the Indian side superior. The latter collected 100 runs from 124 balls and smashed 13 fours with 4 sixes. The former gained his 5th hundred from 161 balls and played to the end. 

On the 4th day of the match, Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Shanto played the balls thrown by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj fantastically. Ravichandran took part in the game after the drinks break and he changed the entire game. Najmul scored 82 runs on the day of the match. 

Ravichandran Ashwin took his 37th 5-wicket wicket drive and Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets to finish the Bangladesh’s innings. 

When is the 2nd Test scheduled of IND vs BAN Test Match series?

The second test match between India and Bangladesh in the race to the World Test Championship 2023-25 is scheduled for 27th September in Kanpur.
