Rishabh Rajendra Pant is an Indian International Cricketer (Wicket-Keeper Batter), best known for his consistency of scoring runs in Test Cricket, has been through a ghastly incident on Friday, 30th of December, 2022.

This Delhi Capitals IPL team’s Vice-Captain, is most likely to miss this IPL of the year 2023.

Rishabh is at present undergoing a complete treatment to recover from the injuries that occur during the accident he has faced, in Max Hospital, Dehradun. These injuries include contusion and cuts on his body, and he also has to face a plastic surgery for the area affected on his face.

This 25 year old cricketer also has a ligament tear on his right leg’s knee, leading to his absence in the upcoming IPL event.

Will Rishabh Pant recover at the time of IPL 2023?

Chances are rare for him to recover at the time of IPL 2023 as this event is going to take place in the months between March and June of 2023 and Rishabh is going through multiple serious injuries on his body that may take more time to heal.

The medical team of BCCI is monitoring his treatment and once he will get in a position to fly, they will take him to Mumbai. The exact time for his recovery can only be estimated once the treatment of his ligament tear will start.

Pant will first have to recover from the external injuries on his body and only then his ligament tear treatment will be able to take place. It is reported that the BCCI may take over the treatment themselves.

Who will replace Rishabh Pant in IPL 2023?

Being the Vice-Captain of the Delhi Capitals team of IPL 2023, Rishabh Pant holds huge responsibilities on his shoulders. The Wicket-Keeper and batsman may also miss the 2023 World Cup in India this year because of being physically unwell.

As he himself won't be able to take part in the IPL 2023, there must be some replacement to take his responsibilities on his behalf. There are reportedly three players in choice who can replace Rishabh Pant’s place in the team for IPL tournament:

  • Sarfaraz Khan

On a part-time basis, Sarfaraz has done Wicket-Keeping in domestic cricket. The finest option to take responsibility in Delhi Capitals as a Vice-Captain. The chances for him to replace Pant are more than the other two.

  • Phil Salt

Another superb alternative for Vice Captains position of Delhi Capitals team, but he is also not a regular wicket-keeper. Still there are chances for Salt to replace Pant.

  • Yash Dhull

Yash is the third and final alternative as the replacement of Pant in Delhi Capitals. He captained the India Under-19 team to a World Cup win last year. Not as much a viable option in comparison with the other two, in spite of proving himself as a superb batsman.

Status of Rishabh Pant Health
