The T20 World Cup 2024 (9th Edition) group stage started on June 2nd and is conducted in the USA & West Indies. This event happens once every two years. The International Cricket Council controls this competition, contested by men's national cricket teams. The 2022 edition contained 16 teams, but in 2024, 20 teams will compete in this greatest cricket event.

"The ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup will see the winners of the 20-team tournament earn at least $2.45 million, the highest prize money in the history of the tournament, along with the trophy that they will lift at Kensington Oval in Barbados on 29 June."

How much the semi-finalists will get in T20 World Cup 2024?

The semi-finalists will also get a prize money of $787,500 each, which in Indian currency is INR 6.5 Crores. 

How much prize money the Super 8 stage teams will get in T20 World Cup 2024?

• The four teams who fail to advance to the Super 8s will receive $382,500 each, which in Indian rupees Is INR 3.1 crore.
• The teams placing 9th to 12th will win $247,500 each, which in Indian rupees is INR 2 Crores and some lakhs.
• Teams who finish between the 13th to 20th position will receive $225,000 each, which equates to INR 1.8 crores.

Each team partaking in this tournament will receive $31,154 for each match won, except the semi-finals and final matches. In Indian rupees, this equals INR 25.9 lakhs.

A total of 8 editions have been played to date and 2024 is going to witness the 9th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. England (2010 & 2022) and West Indies (2012 & 2016) have won two T20 World Cup titles. Team India has won the inaugural season in 2007. The rest of the teams that won this title to date are Pakistan (2009), Sri Lanka (2014), and Australia (2021).
