Current Status
Voting is currently underway and as per the records of ECI (Election Commission of India)the voter turnout has reached 40.32% by 1 pm on 13th May, 2024 (Monday). In particular regions:
- Andhra Pradesh records a turnout of 40.26%, Bihar follows with 34.44%, whereas Jammu and Kashmir reports a turnout of 23.57%.
- Jharkhand sees a higher turnout at 43.80%, Madhya Pradesh records a turnout of 48.52%.
- Maharashtra reports a turnout of 30.85% & Odisha follows the suit with 39.30%.
- Telangana reports a turnout of 40.38%, Uttar Pradesh is at 39.68%, and West Bengal is leading with 51.87%.
Lok Sabha Election 2024 in India
At this point, voting has taken place in 283 constituencies, accounting for roughly half of the 543 Lok Sabha seats, in three rounds on 19th April, 26th April, and 7th May. The third round of polling, held on May 7, for 93 seats, recorded 65.68 percent voter turnout, which is approximately 1.32 percentage points lower than the participation for the same seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
