RTM (Right to Match) Card Update this Season
The RTM (Right to Match) Card permits the team to retain a player throughout the auction by matching the best bid. In it, the franchise can acquire the player on which a high bid is placed and no other team is paying that. In the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, if a team keeps 6 players, they cannot use the RTM card during the auction.
If a team retains 6 players including 5 capped and 1 uncapped, they might have a limited amount left in their auction money limit, and they get no RTM card use permission.
If a team retains 5 players including 4 capped and 1 uncapped, they have the RTM option to acquire a player who has played in the last edition for the same team.
The change in the RTM card use in the IPL auction is that if a team uses the RTM card, they can now get the alternative to increase the bid and have to pay that much to win the player.
