Malaika Arora's Father Anil Arora Dies by Suicide in Mumbai

Anil Kuldip Mehta, the father of Indian Bollywood actress Malaika Arora, died after jumping off from a building terrace on 11th September (Wednesday) this year as per the police. The actual reason for this tragic incident is not revealed yet. The investigation is not completed over this matter.

Malaika Arora’s Father Attempted Suicide and Died

Anil Kuldip Mehta, the father of Malaika Arora, an Indian actress, attempted suicide and died. He jumped off the terrace of Mumbai’s Bandra-based building on Wednesday, the police stated.

The police are yet to finalize the reasons for the attempted suicide. As per the official report, when it happened, Malaika Arora was in Pune and she reached her place after knowing about this heart-breaking incident for the Arora family. 

Her family members, some Bollywood actors along with Arbaaz Khan, Ex-Husband of Malaika Arora, arrived at the residence of the actress to offer solace to her and her family after the news of her father’s suicide was revealed.

The actress’s parents were separated when she was only 11 years of age and her younger sister, Amrita Rao was 6 years of age. These actresses were raised solely by their mother, Joyce Polycarp.

The Arora family hasn’t yet released any official statement over Mr. Anil Kuldip Mehta’s death due to suicide. The family was supported by many family members and close friends from the industry. 

Arbaaz Khan, the Ek-husband of Malaika Arora Khan was also present to offer condolences to the actress. He was at her home after the news was released of her father’s death by suicide. 

What did the Actress and her Mother say to Police?

As per the reports, Joyce Polycarp, the mother of the actress, said to police that Anil Kuldip Mehta, the father of the actress, was following his routine and was sitting on the balcony reading the newspaper as per his morning regular habit. 

She said to police that they were divorced but started living together again in the past few years. She told them that when she saw Anil’s slippers in the living room on Wednesday morning, she started looking for him on the balcony. 

As she was unable to find him, she looked below from the balcony and saw him there. The building watchmen shouted for help. She shared with the police that Mr.Mehta was not suffering from any kind of bodily or psychological illness. He only had a little knee pain. 

What did the Police say to the Media?

The police, while interacting with the media group at the actresses’ place, said:

“Anil used to live on the sixth floor. We are carrying out a detailed investigation from all angles… our forensic teams are here for investigation. His body is being sent for postmortem. We are investigating everything… prima facie it looks like suicide, we are conducting further investigation.”

A social media video, showed the actress rushing back to her place in Mumbai from Pune after hearing this heart-breaking news, and she was grief-sticken. The area around her house was encircled by heavy police deployment to keep the privacy of the family a priority.

Many friends of Malaika Arora Khan visited her house to support the family including Arjun Kapoor, her former partner, and others doing the rounds on social platforms. Arbaaz Khan was there with former in-laws' family including Salim Khan and Salma Khan along with son Sohail Khan and daughter Alvira Agnihotri were present at Malaika’s parents’ home.

Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Kajol, Chunky Panday, and Neha Dhupia also visited the actress’s place to support her during this hard time.
