India recently collected 20 medals and broke their record of 19 medals won in the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020. The Indian side has 3 gold, 7 silver, and 10 bronze medals in their account to date. The Indian players made huge contributions and their amazing efforts for the nation and on the 6th day of this event, they were able to collectively win 20 medals feat.

Paris Paralympics 2024 Indian Medals

The Paris Paralympics 2024 is currently ongoing and the Indian site recently broke its Tokyo Paralympic 2020 record of 19 medals. After the 6th day of the event, the Indian side has 3 Gold, 7 Silver, and 10 Bronze medals in their account. 

After the recent performances of the Indian players on 2nd September (Monday) and 3rd September (Tuesday). The Indian players won 8 medals on Monday and 7 on Tuesday leading to the Indian side collectively getting 20 medals to date in the event. 

In the Tokyo Edition of the Paralympics, the Indian side won 19 medals including 5 golds, 8 silvers, and 6 bronze medals. The hopes are higher this year from the Paris Olympics as India already has a total of 20 medals in their account on the 6th day of the event. The Paris Paralympics 2024 will continue till 8th September this year. 

Paris Paralympics Indian Player’s Performances on Tuesday

On the 3rd, of September (Tuesday) this year, Deepthi Jeevanji, Sharad Kumar, Mariyappan Thangavelu, Ajeet Singh, and Sundar Gurjar won medals for the Indian side. Bhgyashri Mahavrao and Avani Lekhara ended in the 5th position in the Women’s Shot Put - F34 Final and Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 Final, respectively.

  • Deepthi Jeevanji won a bronze medal in the women’s 400m T20 final. 
  • Ajeet Singh and Sundar Gurjar won silver and bronze medals, respectively in the Men’s Javelin throw F46 and performed amazingly. 
  • Sharad Kumar won a Silver Medal in the Men’s High Jump T63. He made a paralympic record in the T42 category with a jump of 1.88 meters.
  • Mariyappan Thangavelu won a Bronze medal in the Men’s High Jump T63. He did a 1.85-meter jump.

This important achievement shows India’s growing capabilities in Paralympic sports. With the passing days of the event, the Indian side is expected to increase the number of medals in the tally list. The Paris Paralympics is going to be remembered by the future generation and it will work as an inspiration for the Indian sports people to win more medals for the nation in the future.
