Orange Army say Hello to New Captain Aiden Markram | SRH

The Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise is famously known as the Orange Army and they are going to have a new skipper for the IPL 2023 season.  Aiden Markram, the South African batter, is selected as the new captain of SRH.

• Now this franchise has also announced that the South African Batter, Aiden Markram, is the confirmed skipper by the franchise for IPL 2023 edition.

This announcement was made on February 23rd, Thursday, on Twitter. This Kavya Maran Owned IPL franchise disclosed the name of Markram on Twitter by saying:

“THE. WAIT. IS. OVER. #OrangeArmy, say hello to our new captain Aiden Markram.”

• This squad did not retain Kane Williamson, who was the skipper of this team the last year, in the IPL 2023 auction. 
• People were making assumptions about the next skipper and other than Markaram, Mayank Aggarwal (Who was the former skipper of Punjab Kings) was also the choice of the franchise to make the skipper.

Aiden Markram Performance in IPL 2022 Tournament

Aiden Markra, the 28-year old cricketer did a great job in last season of IPL and he was recognized by the team for his support to the team with his performance on-field. From the total 14 matches played by SRH, Markarm alone has made 381 runs which includes 3 Half-Centuries with a decent strike rate of 139.05.

Markram shared his views about becoming a captain and said:

“What’s going to happen, to be honest… either way we back the management’s decision about who they want to be in charge,” He further added:

 “Becoming the captain is not the be all and end all. You can be in some form of leadership role too. But I am okay with captaincy, it’s something that I enjoy doing,” he said ahead of the SA20 final against Pretoria Capitals. I have been captaining for a while before this tournament started. It’s been a nice experience, a fresh start, I would say,”
