Sooraj Pancholi and Jiah Khan Tragic Love Story

The Bollywood celebrities falling in love is a point of interest for their fans and in the last decade, there have been many unpredictably developed under the nose of the media.

Jiah Khan and Sooraj Pancholi, were one such couple, but the story changed when Jiah Khan was found dead at her place and Sooraj Pancholi was accused for this. Nearly after 10 years of long wait, the Court has finally revealed the  decision about the Jiah Khan Case.

Who is Jiah Khan?

• Jiah Khan, born as Nafisa Rizvi Khan on February 20th, 1988, was an English-American Actress & Singer. 
• Jiah was born to Indian Parents in New York City and she did her education in London.
• She worked in three bollywood movies Nishabd (2007), Ghajini (2008) & Housefull (2010).
• Jiah Died on June 3rd, 2013 by hanging.

Who is Sooraj Pancholi?

• Sooraj Pancholi, born on November 9th, 1990, is an Indian Bollywood actor who appeared in many hindi bollywood albums and movies. 
• He is the son of Aditya Pancholi And Zarina Wahab & both of them are bollywood actors. 
• Pancholi made his debut in 2015 as an actor with Hero movie and did 2 more movies later. At present he is working on hir 4th movie Hawa Singh.
• Initially he worked as an assistant director for movies Guzaarish (2010) & Ek Tha Tiger (2012).

Jiah Khan Death News in 2013

• As per the reports, Jiah Khan was found dead by hanging on June 3rd, 2013, at her home in Juhu, Mumbai. She was hanging from the ceiling.
• On June 7th, 2013 a six-page letter was found by her sister, which was allegedly written by Jiah herself. Her family gave this letter to the police.
• After 7 days, Sooraj Pancholi was taken to jail on suspicion of encouraging this suicide.

• Sooraj Pancholi was said to be in a relationship with Jiah Khan. The actresses’ mother claimed that her daughter was murdered and it was not a suicide case. 
• Sooraj Pancholi, Bollywood actor, was found ‘not guilty’ in the Jiah Khan, his former girlfriend, death case. 
• After Final judgement, Sooraj used his Instagram and wrote, 

“The Truth Always Wins (heart and folded hands emoji) #GodIsGreat.”

All About Sooraj Pancholi and Jiah Khan Love Story

Sooraj and Jiah started dating in September, 2012. Their relationship was brief and as per Pancholi’s conversation with media, he said:

“You will be shocked to know I only knew her for five months, it was a very short relationship. I totally knew her for maybe six months, out of that five I was in a relationship with her. It’s very difficult to know what a person is going through in just a matter of five months! And at that age, I was a little too immature to even understand the magnitude of what she was going through. I informed her family that she had tried to commit suicide months before she killed herself, six months before she died.”

Jiah Khan Suicide Note

• In October, 2013, Rabia (Jiah’s Mother) filed a petition with the Bombay High Court to have the CBI look into the matter. 
• Sooraj Pancholi was charged on the basis of this suicide note which was assumingly written by Jiah herself.
• Bombay High Court ordered CBI to take this case from Maharashtra Police in July, 2014. Rabia claimed that Jiah ws in an abusive relationship with Sooraj and gave the 16 page long suicide note to police mentioning the same but not the name of the person. 

Sooraj Khan prisoned for Jiah Khan Suicide

Sooraj Pancholi got prisoned in the Jiah Khan suicide abetment case. As per the Indian Penal Code, 1860, which makes abetment of suicide a punishable offence. This law says:

“If any person commits suicide, whoever abets the commission of such suicide shall be punished with imprisonment of either imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.”

Pancholi said that this was not the first time Jiah attempted suicide. She was 16 when she started earning in order to fulfil the needs of her family including mother, two step-sisters and an unknown step-father. She needed family love that she never got. 

• As per Pancholi, when Jiah previously attempted suicide, she cut her wrist with a broken glass. Pancholi called her mother and informed her about the complete situation. She took it lightly and came to India after a very long time which was not expected by Pancholi from her mother.

Court Final Decision on Jiah Khan Suicide Case

The suicide cases of many Bollywood celebrities have come up in the past decade. Most of them were forcefully proved as suicides.The valid evidences were misplaced and some of them were ignored by the authorities. 

The CBI court Judge said that:

“The evidence against Sooraj was “vague and general” and no specific overt act or role can be attributed to him to reflect active abutment.”

“ The judge said Jiah was, in fact, saved by Sooraj during one of earlier suicide attempts. Sayyad noted that Jiah was deeply in love with Sooraj but he wasn't able to dedicate his time to her as he was focused on his acting career.”

 The judge said that the actress was a “victim of her own sentiments”

The Court believes that Jiah could have walked out of the relationship but she had become a victim of her own sentiments and psychological weaknesses. She was unable to overcome her emotions and “Sooraj” should not be blamed for this.

Conclusion

Jiah Khan died by suicide on 3rd June, 2013 as per the court and this decision took 10 years to free Pancholi family from this case.
