Mobile Internet Services Suspended in Nuh Area

The local administration responded to the escalating tensions in Nuh and Gurugram districts by issuing prohibitory orders and implementing the suspension of mobile internet services in the Nuh area. Despite these measures, the situation remained tense well into the evening.

To address the situation effectively, additional forces were deployed to the affected areas. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made a public appeal, urging residents to maintain peace and avoid engaging in any violent activities.

As a precautionary measure, the Gurugram administration announced the closure of all schools in the district for the following day, Tuesday.

In connection with the violent incidents, law enforcement authorities detained at least 20 individuals until 11 pm for further investigation. The authorities are actively working to restore calm and ensure the safety and security of all residents in the region.

When Were The Violence Began

According to statements from police officers, the outbreak of violence occurred approximately 10 minutes after the commencement of a religious procession comprising around 200 people. The procession began its journey from Edward Chowk in Nuh town at approximately 2 pm.

As the group proceeded along the main road, it reportedly faced a barrage of thrown rocks from a sizable crowd. Initially, the Hindu participants of the procession dispersed in response to the attack. However, they allegedly regrouped later and retaliated against the opposing group.

The situation escalated further, leading to the unfortunate outbreak of violence between the two sides.

SP (Hodal) Was Shot On The Head

According to a senior police source, Sajjan Dalal, the Deputy SP (Hodal), was wounded in the head and is currently in serious condition.. He is receiving medical attention at Medanta hospital.

In addition, Inspector Anil Kumar from the Gurugram police was also injured during the incident, having sustained a bullet injury to his abdomen. Both officers are being treated for their injuries, and their medical condition is being closely monitored by the medical staff at the hospital.

Monu Manesar Involvement

According to a police officer, the trigger for the violent outbreak was a rumor circulating that Monu Manesar, a member of the Bajrang Dal and a cow vigilante, who was wanted for the alleged murder of two Muslim men in Haryana's Bhiwani in February, would be present during the religious procession. The rumor was fueled by a video featuring Manesar that started circulating on social media on Sunday.

In the video, Monu Manesar was purportedly heard announcing his intention to participate in the procession in Nuh and urging others to join in large numbers. The circulation of this video heightened tensions in the region, creating a fraught atmosphere. However, it should be noted that despite the rumors, the wanted cow vigilante did not eventually show up at the procession.

What happen in Mewat during “Shobha Yatra”

On Monday, clashes erupted between two groups in Haryana's Mewat region, resulting in the throwing of stones and the setting of vehicles on fire. Tragically, two home guards lost their lives, and 10 policemen sustained injuries during the violent incidents, as confirmed by the police.

As per reports, the violence originated when a group of individuals pelted stones at a rally organized by workers of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad near Nand village in Nuh district. The underlying cause of the violence appears to be related to the reports of Monu Manesar, who is wanted in the Bhiwani deaths case and has alleged involvement in cow vigilantism, being present in the Mewat area.

Monu Manesar's name had been included in the First Information Report (FIR) filed in connection with the death of Nasir and Junaid in February earlier this year. The two men's charred remains were discovered in a Bolero vehicle in Haryana's Bhiwani district.

  • Subsequently, Monu Manesar made an appeal to the public, inviting them to participate in the "shobha yatra" organized by Bajrang Dal members. However, the local residents in the area expressed strong dissatisfaction and anger over his intended visit. They warned of potential protests against his presence in the region due to the circumstances surrounding the aforementioned deaths and his alleged association with the incident.
