The bid for the Women’s IPL team will start from January 23rd, Monday, and the league is expected to start by March before the Men’s IPL league 2023. Details of the tournament and its bidding are provided below in the blog.

 

Another level of progress for Women’s Indian Premier League(WIPL) on Monday as many of the big names will present their bids to buy a franchise for the 2023 WIPL.

 

The deadline of the WIPL bid is going to be January 25th, Wednesday, and these bids are going to conclude and give some idea about who will be in the race to buy a team. There are many big names like Ambanis and Adanis who are likely to place big amounts in it.

  • The original bidding for the Women’s Indian Premier League is going to be held today on January 23rd, Monday.
  • The deadline to present the bids for WIPL 2023 is till January 25th, Wednesday and the franchises will be disclosed on the same day.
  • The expected date for Women’s IPL is from March 5th to March 26th and it is revealed by a source that it is set to start before the start of the Men’s IPL. 
  • A total of 5 teams are going to play in the Women’s Indian Premier League 2023 tournament. 
  • The famous bidders that are likely to present bids for a Women’s IPL franchise along with 7 other Men’s IPL franchises are Ambani and Adani.
  • For now , each of the 5 teams will face every other team twice, once at home and once overseas. A league process of eight matches per team is preceded by a knockout playoffs.
  • As per the recent broadcasting deal, the Women’s IPL match is of value 7 crores each.
  • Viacom18 has successfully won the bid of the rights to broadcast the WIPL 2023 and people can watch the live match there. 

Who all are Participating in the bid of Women’s IPL 2023

The Adanis, Glazer Family , Ambanis & 30 other business houses have taken the tender of WIPL teams. All the interested people can present bids practically at 10 am in the morning of January 23rd, 2023.

  • More than 30 businesses’ have taken part in this race to own a WIPL franchise. Haldiram, Chennai-based Shriram Group, Nilgiri Group & AW Katkuri , Chettinad Cement and JK Cement, Adanis(ILT20 owners (Gulf Giants)), Infosys, Capri Global (Sharjah Warriors), Manchester United owners(Glazer Family), and 10 IPL team owners like Ambanis are among the interested companies.
  • It is confirmed that the defending IPL champions, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings will bid for WIPL teams. 
  • Although the base price is not yet set and bids will be accepted for a 10-year long period (2023-2032).
  • The BCCI has imposed a clause for the bidders to have a net worth of at least INR 1000 Crores before March 2022. The media rights are purchased in the bid by Viacom18 for 5 years at a cost INR 951 Crores. 
  • All of the 10 IPL Men’s teams have purchased the ITT(Invitation to Tender) in WIPL for a non-refundable amount of 5 lakhs. In fact, The GMR Group and JSW Group – Joint owners of Delhi Capitals, have taken up separate ITT.
  • The BCCI has listed 10 Indian cities in the tender, which allows a single party to bid for more than one city.
  • The TECHNICAL Bids for the BCCI will be reviewed by the Mumbai-based law firm Argus Partners.
